YES -- The Jews are GOD's chosen People, through the Covenant of Promise GOD made with Abraham also called The Abrahamic Covenant.
Gen12:2 "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing."
YES -- This blessing was to come through Abraham's "seed." Beginning with Isaac, then Jacob and on down through the family line, Israel would be the instrument by which GOD would bless the nations of the world. Ultimately, this blessing of the nations would be accomplished through one individual, namely the Messiah, son of David. Messiah is the ultimate fulfillment of all the nation ever hoped to achieve or represent.
NO -- Being one of "GOD's chosen people" doesn't mean that you are automatically Blessed in your daily living or going to heaven when you die. Going to heaven is not a matter of being born a Jew and following Jewish ideals, it is a matter of MAKING A PERSONAL DECISION TO ASK THE MESSIAH TO SAVE YOUR SOUL - AND, HE WILL! Jew or Gentile, this is the only way to Salvation!
YES -- The Jew's Messiah and the Gentile's Messiah is one and the same, HE IS EVERYONE'S MESSIAH!
YES -- The Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament have the same text, only the order of the books have been changed.
YES -- The name of the Jewish Bible is the "Tanach" which contains all the books from Genesis to Malachi. The "Torah" refers only to the first five books of the Bible "Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy."
YES -- Some 40 references to The Messiah can be found in the first five books of the Holy Scriptures, the Torah. In fact, there are 333 references to The Messiah in the whole Tanach, from Genesis to Malachi! (Yes, somebody counted them!) It's called "The Messianic Concept." The Messiah—the Anointed One—is in fact not mysterious at all. Hints about His existence run throughout the Bible like a red thread. He is mentioned from the first book in
Gen 3:15 "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed, and He shall bruise your head and you His heel,"
until the last prophet
Mal. 3:1 "Behold, I send my messenger to prepare the way for Me, and the Lord whom you seek will come suddenly to the temple, the Messenger of the covenant in whom you delight; behold, He is coming, says the Lord of Hosts."
YES -- The New Testament is also part of The Bible as The Lord tells us in
Jer31:31, "Behold, the days come, saith The Lord, that I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah."
The New Testament is "a very Jewish book", written by Jews, focuses on issues of interest to Jews and was strongly influenced by the Hebrew language.
NO -- You cannot criticize the New Testament if you havn't read it for yourself. Shall you depend on the Rabbi's interpretations or anyone else when it is a matter of "life and death", YOUR LIFE AND DEATH? Read it for yourself, that The Lord may speak to your heart about these matters. The book of John is one of the most famous books in The Bible and all of literature and is a good place to start.
NO -- Being Jewish and also a Christian is not a contradiction. Think about it: Christianity is a Jewish religion. The whole concept of the Messiah is rooted in Judaism. THE FIRST CHRISTIANS WERE ALL JEWS, NONE OF THEM RENOUNCED THEIR JEWISHNESS! The most prolific New Testament writer, Paul, wrote almost half of the 27 New Testament books (By The Lords inspiration) and his Jewish background is indisputable. He was a son of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin, a Pharisee, extremely zealous for the traditions of his fathers. Paul's Salvation did not happen because he was a Jew, but because of being Saved by the Lord! Read about Paul's conversion experience in Acts9:1-22, how The Lord YESHUA "knocked him off his high horse" and blinded him for 3 days so that he would get "the message" that YESHUA was truly The Messiah whom he shall worship and serve, forever! (Paul's reply, while he was laying on the ground with his face in the dirt, should also be our reply)! Acts9:6 "And he trembling and astonished said,
Acts26:16-18 "... arise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me."
NO -- Israel's religious establishment in the New Testament did not understand the meaning of their own Scriptures. The Lord claimed that these leaders had emphasized their own interpretations to the point of obscuring the actual Hebrew Scriptures.
YES -- THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THE MESSIAH HAS COME!!! HIS NAME IS JESUS CHRIST (YESHUA HAMASHIACH)!!! HE IS THE PROMISED MESSIAH AND SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD, FOR JEW AND GENTILE ALIKE!!! His Birth was prophesied in
Is 7:14 and Mt 1:23: "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel, which being interpreted is, GOD with us."
YES -- We worship a Triune GOD: GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT. YESHUA IS THE SON! The Sonship of the Messiah was a key aspect of YESHUA's personality.
YES -- YESHUA (JESUS) is Jewish, "the Jew of all Jews."
YES -- YESHUA is the only one who fits into the the Time period of prophecy by Daniel.
(Read Daniel 9:1-27)
YES -- You can have Eternal Life. YESHUA said
Jn 10:19 "I came that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly!"
He also said in
Rev 3:20 "See, I stand at the door (of your heart and life) and knock; if you hear My voice and open the door, I will come into your heart and life and sup with you, and you with Me."
All anyone has to do is talk to Him like Tyviye did in "The Fiddler on the Roof" and invite Him in. It's a very Jewish thing to do.
What I'm saying is: "that YESHUA -- IS the Messiah promised to the Jewish people and the Savior of the world; that he accomplished our Salvation by dying on the cross as an atonement for our sins and rising again on the third day; and that anyone, Jew or Gentile, who believes in Him shall be saved!"
Let us not forget that Satan, the master of SUBTLE DECEPTIONS, FATHER OF LIES, will do everything he can to influence the minds of lost souls and KEEP THEM FROM ACCEPTING YESHUA AS THEIR PERSONAL SAVIOUR!
IICor4:4 "In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of YESHUA, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
Our Prayer should be, "Lord, open the "eyes of my understanding" that I may see my need for your glorious SALVATION!" Amen.
